Takeo Higashi vs Steven Fridge

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 22/02/2040 from Tokyo, Japan:

The Tokyo venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Takeo Higashi (30 - 8) who hails from Tokyo, Japan and Steven Fridge(3 - 12) from Calgary, Canada.  

Round 1: 

Higashi is on target with a right hook.  
Higashi lands a stinging cross.  
Higashi drives a firm left hook into his opponents body.  
Higashi connects with a solid left hook.  
Higashi closes the distance and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Fridge throws a right hook, but Higashi clinches his opponent.  Fridge pushes his forearm into Higashi's face.  The referee warns Fridge and breaks the clinch.  
Higashi lands a firm right hook.  
Higashi lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Higashi forces Fridge to back into the ropes.  Higashi is on target with a right uppercut to Fridge's ribcage.  
Higashi drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Fridge throws a right hook, but Higashi holds on to his opponent.  Higashi tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Fridge's kidney. Higashi is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks Higashi's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Higashi is on target with a stinging left hook to Fridge's body.  
Higashi connects with a left hook.  
Higashi quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Higashi is on target with a cross.  
Higashi throws a right uppercut, but is off-target.  Higashi clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Higashi pushes his forearm into Fridge's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Higashi to stop fouling.

Higashi manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Higashi lands a left uppercut followed by  two right hooks to his opponents body.  
Higashi steps inside and is on target with a stinging right hook to his opponents body.  
Higashi advances into close range and digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Fridge lands a cross to the body, and then to the head.  
Higashi lands a left uppercut to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a right hook to the body.  
Higashi sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right uppercut, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body, AND FRIDGE IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 9.  Fridge recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Higashi sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Higashi connects with a solid cross.  
Higashi is looking to close the distance and drives a solid left hook into his opponents body.  
Higashi lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.

Higashi steps inside.  Fridge connects with a right hook.  Higashi ties up his opponent.  Fridge is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Higashi digs in a firm left hook to Fridge's body.  
Higashi lands a right hook.  
Higashi lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Higashi advances into close range and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Higashi connects with a stinging left hook.  
Higashi lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Higashi sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Higashi lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Higashi is on target with a left hook.  Higashi holds on to his opponent.  Fridge leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Higashi uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Fridge behind the head. The ref breaks Higashi's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

Higashi closes the distance.  Higashi quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Higashi lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  Higashi holds on to his opponent.  The ref breaks Higashi's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Higashi lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Fridge quickly recovers. 
Higashi lands a left hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Fridge is on target with a cross.  
Higashi gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  
Higashi manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Higashi sidesteps to the left of his opponent and crashes a spiteful left hook to his opponents liver.  IT LOOKS LIKE FRIDGE WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Higashi is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Higashi lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents body, DROPPING FRIDGE TO THE CANVAS!  He tries to rise on shaky legs but Fridge cant beat the count!  The winner by KO is Higashi!
