Boxing Daily Report from the Dominican Republic National Finals 2040,  taking place on 11/03/2040 from Santo Domingo Norte, Dominican Republic:

The Santo Domingo Norte venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.

Zenon steps away from his opponent and lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Zenon closes the distance.  Zenon quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Picon throws a left hook, but Zenon ties up his opponent.  Picon leans on his opponent using all his weight. Zenon pushes his forearm into Picon's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Zenon about fouling.  
Picon lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Picon manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Picon throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a firm right uppercut.  
Zenon advances into close range.  Zenon sidesteps to the left of his opponent and drives a left uppercut into Picon's body.  
Zenon lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Zenon steps inside and connects with a left hook.  
Zenon advances into close range and lands a firm left hook.  
Picon steps to the outside and lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Zenon's trainer is telling his fighter he is winning comfortably and should get on his bike for the remainder of the fight.
