Rob Gordon vs Ahia Pareraukawa

Boxing Daily Report from the New Zealand National Finals 2040,  taking place on 11/04/2040 from Manukau, New Zealand:

The Manukau venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Flyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Rob Gordon (13 - 9) who hails from Auckland, New Zealand and Ahia Pareraukawa(1 - 3) from Manukau, New Zealand.  

Round 1: 

Pareraukawa attempts to land a cross, but Gordon slips the shot and counters with a firm left hook.  
Gordon is on target with a left hook to Pareraukawa's liver.  Gordon attempts to land a left hook, but Pareraukawa blocks the shot and counters with a solid left uppercut.

Gordon manouvers Pareraukawa onto the ropes.  Gordon quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and connects with a left uppercut.

Pareraukawa pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a stiff jab.  
Gordon advances into close range and lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Pareraukawa attempts to land a jab, but Gordon parries the shot and counters with a solid right uppercut.  
Gordon sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Pareraukawa tries to land a left uppercut, but Gordon blocks the shot and counters with a stinging right hook.  
Gordon sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  He then lands a left uppercut to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the body.  
Gordon steps inside.  Gordon pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Gordon quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Gordon is on target with a firm right hook.  Gordon throws a right uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a firm right uppercut.  
Gordon pivots to the side of his opponent.  Pareraukawa throws a right uppercut, but Gordon ties up his opponent.  Gordon leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Pareraukawa is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Pareraukawa.  
Gordon sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Gordon lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Gordon sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Gordon pivots from in front of his opponent.  Gordon lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the body followed by two left uppercut's to the head.  Gordon ties up his opponent.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Gordon quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a left hook to his opponents liver.  
Gordon sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Gordon throws a left uppercut, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Gordon clinches his opponent.  Pareraukawa is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Gordon lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND KNOCKS PARERAUKAWA DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  
Gordon quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left uppercut to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Pareraukawa quickly recovers. 
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Gordon's trainer is telling his fighter he is a mile in front and not to do anything stupid.
