Peter Jerden vs Ian Henard

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 30/05/2040 from Los Angeles, USA:

The Los Angeles venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Peter Jerden (46 - 10) who hails from Santa Ana, USA and Ian Henard(4 - 20(2)) from Cleveland, USA.  

Round 1: 

Jerden closes the distance.  Jerden leans back on the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Henard steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  
Jerden steps inside and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Jerden ties up his opponent.  Jerden pushes his forearm into Henard's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Jerden lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Henard lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Jerden steps inside and drives a solid right hook into his opponents body.  
Henard hits home with a cross.  
Jerden advances into close range and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Henard throws a left hook, but Jerden holds on to his opponent.  Jerden leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Henard lowers his hands, trying to provoke his opponent to attack.  Jerden lands a solid cross.  Jerden attempts to land a cross, but Henard slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.

Jerden closes the distance.  Henard throws a left hook, but Jerden ties up his opponent.  Jerden leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, Jerden pushes his forearm into Henard's face.  The referee warns Jerden and breaks the clinch.  
Henard quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Henard digs in a left hook to Jerden's body.  Jerden ties up his opponent.  Jerden is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Jerden is looking to close the distance and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Henard pivots to the right of his opponent, but Jerden lands a jab.  
Henard steps to the outside and connects with an overhand right.  
Henard pivots to the right of his opponent.  Henard tries to land a right hook, but Jerden sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut to Henard's body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Jerden's trainer is telling his fighter to play it safe for the remainder of the fight.
