Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 26/06/2040 from Los Angeles, USA:

The Los Angeles venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Peter Jerden (47 - 10) who hails from Santa Ana, USA and Kris Maitland(2 - 2) from Albuquerque, USA.  

Round 1: 

Jerden advances into close range and lands a left hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a right hook to the body.  
Jerden voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Maitland accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Jerden.  
Maitland attempts to land a jab, but Jerden slips the shot and counters with a firm left hook.  
Jerden advances into close range and connects with a right hook.  Jerden attempts to land a right hook, but Maitland blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Maitland lands a solid right uppercut.  Jerden holds on to his opponent.  Jerden is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Jerden about fouling.  
Maitland digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Maitland is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands with a solid jab.  
Maitland lands a solid right hook.  
Jerden lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  Jerden clinches his opponent.  Maitland tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Jerden behind the head. Jerden uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Maitland behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Jerden.

Maitland sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Jerden lands a jab to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Jerden throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a sharp cross.  
Jerden steps inside.  Maitland throws a right hook, but Jerden clinches his opponent.  Maitland tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Jerden's kidney. The ref breaks Jerden's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Maitland hits home with a cross.  
Jerden advances into close range.  Maitland throws a left hook, but Jerden ties up his opponent.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Jerden is on target with a left hook to Maitland's body.  
Jerden is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Jerden gets on the inside and lands a right uppercut.  Jerden clinches his opponent.  Jerden leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Jerden's trainer is telling his fighter he is a mile in front and not to do anything stupid.
