Robert Wigen vs William Herde

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 13/08/2040 from Minneapolis, USA:

The Minneapolis venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Robert Wigen (55 - 5) who hails from Minneapolis, USA and William Herde(16 - 20) from Coral Springs, USA.  

Round 1: 

Herde throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Wigen steps to the outside.  Wigen feints a cross, and then connects with a firm overhand right.  
Wigen is on target with a sharp left hook to his opponents body.  
Wigen feints a cross, but Herde is not fooled and is on target with a cross.  
Herde gets on the inside and throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.

Wigen feints a left hook, and then lands with a stiff jab.  Wigen attempts to land a cross, but Herde blocks the shot and counters with a sharp cross.  
Wigen drives a hard jab into his opponents face.  
Wigen lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Herde steps inside and attempts to land a left uppercut, but Wigen dodges the shot and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
Wigen lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Wigen lands a jab followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Wigen is looking to keep his distance.  Wigen feints a jab, and then lands a cross to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
Herde closes the distance.  Wigen is on target with a sharp right hook to Herde's body.  
Herde steps inside and throws a right uppercut, but Wigen ties up his opponent.  Wigen uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Herde's kidney. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Wigen is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Wigen quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Herde lands a stinging overhand left.  
Wigen lands a cross to the head, a jab to the head and a cross to the body.  
Herde is looking to close the distance and walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Herde digs in a firm right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Wigen is looking to keep his distance and lands a jab, cross and an overhand left to his opponents head.  
Herde gets on the inside and throws a left hook, but Wigen holds on to his opponent.  Wigen pushes his forearm into Herde's face.  The referee warns Wigen and breaks the clinch.
