Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 24/08/2040 from San Miguelito, Panama:

The San Miguelito venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Rodrigo Sigala (16 - 17) who hails from Panama City, Panama and Jerrold Varona(5 - 4) from San Juan, Argentina.  

Round 1: 

Sigala finds the target with a jab.  
Varona walks Sigala into a corner.  Sigala connects with a stinging cross.  
Varona closes the distance and throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a solid cross.  
Sigala lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Sigala feints a cross, and then lands a jab.  
Varona walks Sigala down, trapping him in a corner.  Varona lands a right hook.  
Sigala steps to the outside.  Sigala feints a cross, and then lands an overhand right.  
Sigala sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Varona lands a cross.

Sigala steps away from his opponent and is on target with an overhand right.  
Sigala lands two left hook's to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.

Varona advances into close range.  Varona sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Sigala's trainer is telling his fighter he is a mile in front and not to do anything stupid.

Varona manouvers Sigala into a corner.  Sigala lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Sigala is looking to keep his distance and is on target with a jab.  
Sigala lands three consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Varona lands a left hook to the head, a jab to the head and a cross to the body.  
Sigala switches the action to the outside and lands a jab.  
Sigala lands with a solid jab.  
Varona gets on the inside.  Varona throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref ignores Sigala's complaints and signals for the action to continue.
