Amjad Afzal vs Owen Hier

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 28/09/2040 from Sheffield, UK:

The Sheffield venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Amjad Afzal (25 - 6) who hails from Manchester, UK and Owen Hier(1 - 0) from Swansea, UK.  

Round 1: 

Afzal attempts to land a jab, but Hier sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Afzal steps inside and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Afzal hits home with a stinging cross.  
Afzal digs in a solid right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Afzal pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Afzal walks his opponent down, trapping him in the red corner.  Afzal drives a left uppercut into his opponents ribs.

Hier sidesteps to the right of his opponent and drives a left hook into Afzal's liver.  
Hier tries to step out of his opponents range and attempts to land a jab, but Afzal dodges the shot and counters with a cross.  
Afzal advances into close range and hits home with a right hook.  Afzal ties up his opponent.  Hier pushes his forearm into Afzal's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Hier about fouling.  
Hier is looking to keep the action on the outside and throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a stinging right hook.  
Afzal is looking to close the distance and hits home with a right hook.  Afzal throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Hier is looking to keep his distance and is on target with a cross to Afzal's body.  
Afzal advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  Afzal holds on to his opponent.  Afzal pushes his forearm into Hier's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Afzal about fouling.

Hier tries to keep the action at long range and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Hier hits home with a stiff jab.  
Afzal advances into close range.  Hier throws a right hook, but Afzal clinches his opponent.  Afzal hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Afzal lands a straight 1 - 2.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Afzal's trainer is telling his fighter he is winning comfortably and should get on his bike for the remainder of the fight.
