Joaquin Lujano vs Cortez Devera

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 29/09/2040 from Havana, Cuba:

The Havana venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Joaquin Lujano (52(1) - 6) who hails from Havana, Cuba and Cortez Devera(1 - 5) from San Juan, Puerto Rico.  

Round 1: 

Devera walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Devera connects with a stinging cross.  
Devera closes the distance.  Lujano lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Devera gets on the inside.  Lujano lands a solid right hook.  
Lujano lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Devera pivots from in front of his opponent.  Devera is on target with a left hook.  Lujano ties up his opponent.  Devera pushes his forearm into Lujano's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Devera.

Devera gets on the inside and walks Lujano down, trapping him in a neutral corner.  Devera attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Lujano's complaints and signals for the action to continue.

Lujano steps away from his opponent and hits home with an overhand right.  
Devera sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Devera lands a left hook.  Lujano clinches his opponent.  Lujano is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Lujano about fouling.  
Devera is on target with a stinging right hook to his opponents body.  
Lujano tries to keep the action at long range and finds the target with a ramrod jab.  
Lujano lands a jab, overhand right and a jab to his opponents head.  
Devera cuts off the ring, trapping Lujano on the ropes.  Lujano lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  Lujano attempts to land a left hook, but Devera sidesteps and counters with a left hook.

Devera steps inside.  Lujano lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  Lujano clinches his opponent.  Devera tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Lujano's kidney. 
Lujano switches the action to the outside and lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Devera steps inside.  Devera sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Lujano attempts to land a left uppercut, but Devera slips the shot and counters with a stinging right hook.  
Lujano steps to the outside and lands a solid overhand right.  
Lujano waits at the mid-range with a lowered guard, waiting for his opponent to throw a punch.  Devera lands a stinging cross to his opponents body.
