Matt Steele vs Jake Mundy

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 10/04/2041 from Miami, USA:

The Miami venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Matt Steele (38 - 13) who hails from Jacksonville, USA and Jake Mundy(0 - 2) from Honolulu, USA.  

Round 1: 

Steele is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Steele drives a firm right hook into Mundy's body.  Steele holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Steele pushes his forearm into Mundy's face.  The referee warns Steele and breaks the clinch.  
Steele lands a right hook, left hook and a right hook to his opponents head.  Steele ties up his opponent.  Mundy throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. Steele leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Steele connects with a left hook.  
Mundy is looking to close the distance and throws a left hook, but Steele ties up his opponent.  The ref separates the two fighters.

Steele advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Steele hits home with a sharp right hook.  
Mundy pivots to the left of his opponent, but Steele is on target with a stinging left hook to his opponents body.  
Mundy manouvers Steele into the corner.  Steele lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Mundy advances into close range.  Steele connects with a left hook.  
Mundy tries to keep the action at long range.  Steele strikes his opponents body with a solid cross.  
Steele advances into close range and lands a solid right hook.

Steele gets on the inside.  Mundy throws a left hook, but Steele ties up his opponent.  Steele leans on his opponent using all his weight. Steele throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. Mundy is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Mundy about fouling.  
Steele lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Steele's trainer is advising his fighter to keep his distance and coast to the win.
