Henry McAfee vs Landry Barthez

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 09/06/2041 from Abidjan, Ivory Coast:

The Abidjan venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Henry McAfee (10 - 22(5)) who hails from Glasgow, UK and Landry Barthez(66(9) - 16) from Abidjan, Ivory Coast.  

Round 1: 

Barthez closes the distance and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  Barthez ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, McAfee pushes his forearm into Barthez's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.

Barthez lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Barthez clinches his opponent.  Barthez tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits McAfee's kidney. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Barthez about fouling.  
Barthez walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Barthez pivots to the right of his opponent.  McAfee throws a left hook, but Barthez holds on to his opponent.  Barthez leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
McAfee lands a left hook.  
Barthez lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Barthez drives a right hook into McAfee's ribs.  Barthez clinches his opponent.  Barthez is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Barthez about fouling.  
Barthez steps inside and throws a left uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot.  Barthez clinches his opponent.  Barthez tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits McAfee behind the head. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Barthez lands a right hook.  
Barthez walks his opponent down, trapping him in a corner.  Barthez lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head, AND KNOCKS MCAFEE DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  
Barthez sidesteps to the right of his opponent and drives a right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Barthez connects with a right hook.  
Barthez sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Barthez attempts to land a left hook, but McAfee blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Barthez is on target with a stinging left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Barthez is on target with a stinging left hook.  
Barthez cuts off the ring, trapping McAfee on the ropes.  Barthez is on target with a right hook.  
Barthez hits home with a left hook.  
McAfee steps away from his opponent.  Barthez connects with an overhand right.  
Barthez steps inside and is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Barthez walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Barthez lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.

McAfee switches the action to the outside.  Barthez senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop McAfee and just needs the right shot.  Barthez slams a hurtful right hook into McAfee's body.  MCAFEE IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 4.  
Barthez drives a potent left hook into his opponents body.  MCAFEE IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  HE MAKES IT TO ONE KNEE, BUT IS UNABLE TO RISE ANY FURTHER AS THE REF COUNTS 10!  The winner by KO is Barthez!
