Xaverius Acosta vs Ronan Neil

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 14/08/2041 from Ponce, Puerto Rico:

The Ponce venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Xaverius Acosta (16 - 5) who hails from Ponce, Puerto Rico and Ronan Neil(2 - 2) from Sligo, Ireland.  

Round 1: 

Neil sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a cross followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Acosta gets on the inside.  Neil connects with a firm right hook.  
Acosta closes the distance and drives a right uppercut into his opponents body.  
Acosta is looking to close the distance and tries to land a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a sharp right uppercut.  
Neil lands with a stiff jab.  
Acosta pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Acosta is looking to close the distance and forces Neil to back into the ropes.  Neil lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.

Neil throws a left hook, but Acosta ties up his opponent.  Acosta pushes his forearm into Neil's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Acosta about fouling.
