Cris Soria vs Juan Medrano

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 29/08/2041 from Havana, Cuba:

The Havana venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Cris Soria (38 - 3) who hails from Havana, Cuba and Juan Medrano(2 - 4) from Trujillo, Peru.  

Round 1: 

Soria is looking to keep the action on the outside and is on target with a cross.  
Soria tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a ramrod jab.  
Medrano is on target with a left hook.  
Medrano closes the distance.  Medrano sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Medrano quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Soria attempts to land a jab, but Medrano dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Medrano attempts to land an overhand right, but Soria blocks the shot and counters with a solid right hook.  
Soria pivots to the left of his opponent, but Medrano lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Soria feints a jab, but Medrano ignores the feint and is on target with a left uppercut to his opponents body.

Medrano tries to land a cross, but Soria slips the shot and counters with a sharp right hook.  
Soria steps to the outside and is on target with a cross.  
Soria lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Soria steps away from his opponent and drives a ramrod jab into his opponents face.  Soria throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Medrano advances into close range.  Medrano voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Soria steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Soria's trainer is telling his fighter he is winning comfortably and should get on his bike for the remainder of the fight.
