Franco Grimaldo vs Josh Rowand

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 27/10/2041 from San Antonio, USA:

The San Antonio venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Franco Grimaldo (10 - 3) who hails from Dallas, USA and Josh Rowand(1 - 8) from Dallas, USA.  

Round 1: 

Rowand is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Grimaldo is on target with an overhand left.  
Rowand throws a jab, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Grimaldo tries to keep the action at long range.  Grimaldo goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref stops the action and gives Rowand time to recover.

Grimaldo advances into close range and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Grimaldo is looking to keep the action on the outside and finds the target with a jab.  
Rowand pivots from in front of his opponent, but Grimaldo hits home with a cross.  
Grimaldo switches the action to the outside.  Grimaldo feints a jab, fooling Rowand into launching a right uppercut counter.  Grimaldo is waiting for the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Rowand manages to force Grimaldo onto the ropes.  Rowand finds the target with a jab.  
Grimaldo lands a jab followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Grimaldo sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
Grimaldo stands off with low guard waiting for his opponent to launch an attack.  Rowand hits home with a cross.  
Grimaldo lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Rowand tries to land a jab, but Grimaldo blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Grimaldo's trainer is telling his fighter he is a mile in front and not to do anything stupid.

Grimaldo steps back and leans on the ropes with his guard up.  Rowand accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Grimaldo.  
Grimaldo is on target with a jab.  Grimaldo throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Rowand sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a cross.
