Matthew Cecil vs Davie Lawless

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 05/11/2041 from Eugene, USA:

The Eugene venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Matthew Cecil (35 - 4) who hails from Portland, USA and Davie Lawless(2 - 5) from Miami, USA.  

Round 1: 

Cecil tries to keep the action at long range.  Cecil quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Lawless steps inside and forces Cecil to retreat onto the ropes.  Cecil throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a solid cross.  
Lawless is looking to close the distance and walks Cecil down, trapping him on the ropes.  Cecil lands a right hook followed by  two left uppercuts to his opponents head.  
Lawless hits home with a right hook.  
Cecil steps away from his opponent.  Cecil feints a cross, and then connects with a cross.  
Lawless is looking to close the distance.  Lawless is on target with a right hook.  Lawless throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action and gives Cecil time to recover.  
Lawless lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Lawless gets on the inside.  Cecil attempts to land a left hook, but Lawless blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Cecil steps to the outside and lands a jab.  Cecil tries to land a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a solid left hook to Cecil's body.  
Cecil is looking to keep his distance and hits home with a sharp cross.

Lawless steps inside and walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Lawless pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Lawless throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Lawless pivots to the right of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.  
Lawless forces Cecil to retreat onto the ropes.  Lawless digs in a solid left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Lawless steps inside and hits home with a sharp left uppercut.  
Cecil lands a solid left uppercut.  
Cecil lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Cecil lands a cross.  
Lawless closes the distance.  Lawless pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.

Lawless steps inside and cuts off the ring, trapping Cecil in a neutral corner.  Lawless throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Cecil ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Lawless pushes his forearm into Cecil's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Cecil lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Cecil is on target with an overhand right.  
Lawless steps inside and throws a right uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a stinging left hook to Lawless's liver.  
Lawless connects with a sharp cross.  
Cecil lands a double jab to his opponents head.

Lawless manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Lawless drives a right uppercut into his opponents ribs.  Cecil holds on to his opponent.  Cecil uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Lawless's kidney. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Lawless sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Cecil is on target with a right hook to Lawless's ribs.
