Joshua Mullen vs Bob Gheerts

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 01/12/2041 from Minneapolis, USA:

The Minneapolis venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Joshua Mullen (18(1) - 2) who hails from Minneapolis, USA and Bob Gheerts(3 - 6) from Antwerp, Belgium.  

Round 1: 

Gheerts quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Mullen attempts to land a jab, but Gheerts dodges the shot and counters with a cross.  
Mullen lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Mullen lands with a hard jab.  
Mullen steps inside and is on target with a left hook.  
Gheerts stalks forward with a low guard, trying to draw a lead from his opponent.  Mullen attempts to land a right hook, but Gheerts sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Gheerts pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a jab followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Gheerts hits home with a solid right hook.  
Mullen walks Gheerts down, trapping him in the red corner.  Mullen throws a right hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Mullen clinches his opponent.  Mullen leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Mullen's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Mullen advances into close range and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Mullen holds on to his opponent.  Mullen uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Gheerts behind the head. Mullen is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Mullen about fouling.  
Mullen throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Mullen ties up his opponent.  Mullen tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Gheerts's kidney. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Mullen lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Mullen ties up his opponent.  Mullen leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Mullen lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Mullen tries to land a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Gheerts throws a right uppercut, but Mullen ties up his opponent.  Gheerts pushes his forearm into Mullen's face.  The ref breaks Mullen's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Mullen closes the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Mullen steps inside.  Gheerts throws a left uppercut, but Mullen ties up his opponent.  Gheerts pushes his forearm into Mullen's face.  The referee warns Gheerts and breaks the clinch.  
Gheerts is on target with a sharp cross.  
Mullen advances into close range and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.

Gheerts digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  Mullen clinches his opponent.  Mullen is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks Mullen's hold and signals for the fight to continue.
