Velimir Volaric vs Bob Gheerts

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 16/12/2041 from Zagreb, Croatia:

The Zagreb venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Velimir Volaric (26 - 8) who hails from Zagreb, Croatia and Bob Gheerts(3 - 7) from Antwerp, Belgium.  

Round 1: 

Gheerts tries to land a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a stinging left uppercut to his opponents liver.  
Volaric is on target with a right uppercut.  
Volaric steps away from his opponent and tries to land a jab, but Gheerts parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Gheerts is looking to close the distance and walks his opponent down, trapping him in the corner.  Gheerts hits home with a right uppercut.  
Gheerts throws a cross, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a solid left uppercut to his opponents ribs.

Volaric lands a sharp cross to Gheerts's body.  Volaric attempts to land a jab, but Gheerts parries the shot and counters with a firm right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Gheerts gets on the inside and connects with a firm right hook.  Volaric holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Volaric pushes his forearm into Gheerts's face.  The ref breaks Volaric's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Volaric tries to step out of his opponents range.  Volaric sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a cross.  
Gheerts steps inside and forces Volaric to retreat onto the ropes.  Gheerts pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.

Volaric steps away from his opponent.  Gheerts lands a jab.  
Gheerts steps inside and walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Gheerts quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and drives a right hook into Volaric's body.  
Gheerts is looking to keep his distance.  Volaric lands a cross, overhand left and a cross to his opponents head.

The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Gheerts pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a stinging cross.  
Gheerts advances into close range.  Gheerts pivots from in front of his opponent.  Gheerts throws a left hook, but Volaric holds on to his opponent.  Gheerts pushes his forearm into Volaric's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Gheerts to stop fouling.
