Boxing Daily Report from the New Zealand National Finals 2042,  taking place on 11/04/2042 from Christchurch, New Zealand:

The Christchurch venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Lightweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Denton Forson (17(2) - 12) who hails from Hamilton, New Zealand and Harvey Rumage(1 - 3) from Manukau, New Zealand.  

Round 1: 

Forson manouvers his opponent into a neutral corner.  Forson drives a sharp right uppercut into his opponents body.  
Rumage tries to step out of his opponents range.  Forson hits home with a hard jab.  
Forson is on target with a right uppercut to Rumage's ribcage.  
Forson quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Rumage lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Forson gets on the inside and manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Forson lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  He continues the combination and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Forson lands a right hook.  
Forson lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Forson steps inside and lands a solid right hook.  
Rumage sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a cross.  
Forson throws a cross, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Forson tries to land a left hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Rumage drives a left hook into Forson's body.  
Rumage is looking to keep his distance.  Forson lands a cross.  
Rumage pivots from in front of his opponent, but Forson digs in a solid left hook to his opponents body.  
Forson lands a jab to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  He follows up the attack and lands a jab followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Forson steps inside and lands a left hook.

Rumage throws a right uppercut, but Forson ties up his opponent.  Forson is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Forson about fouling.  
Forson lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  Forson clinches his opponent.  Forson leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Forson walks Rumage onto the ropes.  Forson is on target with a right uppercut to his opponents body.

Forson gets on the inside and EXPLODES a nasty right uppercut into his opponents face.  RUMAGE HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 6.  
Forson drives a solid left hook into his opponents ribs.  
Forson lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Forson pivots from in front of his opponent.  Rumage throws a right hook, but Forson clinches his opponent.  Forson leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Forson drives a left hook into Rumage's ribs.  
Forson closes the distance and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Forson senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Rumage and just needs the right shot.  Forson lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents head, AND DOWN GOES RUMAGE!  He is unable to get up before the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Forson!
