Franco Grimaldo vs Spencer Bires

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 08/08/2042 from San Antonio, USA:

The San Antonio venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Franco Grimaldo (21 - 5) who hails from Dallas, USA and Spencer Bires(2 - 5) from Austin, USA.  

Round 1: 

Grimaldo attempts to land a jab, but Bires blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Grimaldo steps inside.  Grimaldo retreats back to the ropes, and waits for his opponent to attack.  Bires is whaling away with hooks, but Grimaldo keeps his defence tight.  
Grimaldo advances into close range and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  He then lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Bires is looking to keep his distance and finds the target with a jab.  
Grimaldo hits home with a left hook.  
Bires switches the action to the outside and lands a stinging jab.  
Grimaldo is looking to close the distance.  Bires pivots to the right of his opponent, but Grimaldo lands a left hook to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a left uppercut to the body.  
Bires hits home with a left uppercut.  
Grimaldo closes the distance and hits home with a right uppercut.  
Grimaldo lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Grimaldo lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Bires sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Bires throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Grimaldo lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Grimaldo's trainer is advising his fighter to keep his distance and coast to the win.
