Juan Echavarria vs Montel Mate

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 02/02/2043 from Havana, Cuba:

The Havana venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Juan Echavarria (26 - 8) who hails from Havana, Cuba and Montel Mate(0 - 4) from Bogota, Colombia.  

Round 1: 

Mate finds the target with a jab.  
Echavarria steps inside and drives a stinging left hook into his opponents body.  Echavarria clinches his opponent.  Echavarria throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. 
Echavarria lands a right hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a left hook to the head.  
Echavarria lands two left hook's to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Echavarria connects with a stinging right uppercut.  Echavarria clinches his opponent.  Echavarria is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Mate connects with a right hook.  
Mate walks Echavarria onto the ropes.  Echavarria connects with a right hook.  
Echavarria is on target with a left hook.  
Echavarria is on target with a jab.  
Echavarria closes the distance.  Mate throws a left uppercut, but Echavarria ties up his opponent.  Echavarria throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref breaks Echavarria's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Echavarria walks his opponent down, trapping him in the corner.  Echavarria lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Echavarria hits home with a left hook.  
Mate gets on the inside and tries to land a left hook, but Echavarria dodges the shot and counters with a cross.  
Echavarria drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Mate lands a cross.  
Echavarria advances into close range and hits home with a left uppercut.  
Echavarria lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  Echavarria clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Echavarria pushes his forearm into Mate's face.  The referee warns Echavarria and breaks the clinch.  
Mate hits home with a right hook.

Echavarria manouvers his opponent into a neutral corner.  Echavarria is on target with a firm left hook.  Echavarria holds on to his opponent.  Mate uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Echavarria's kidney. 
Echavarria sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Echavarria is on target with a right hook.  
Echavarria is on target with a left hook to Mate's ribs.  
Echavarria is on target with a left hook.  
Echavarria is on target with a cross.  
Echavarria closes the distance.  Mate is on target with a left hook.  Echavarria holds on to his opponent.  Mate pushes his forearm into Echavarria's face.  The referee warns Mate and breaks the clinch.  
Mate quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Echavarria lands a solid left hook.  
Echavarria hits home with a cross.  
Echavarria lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Echavarria connects with a firm right hook.  
Echavarria throws a right hook, but his opponent avoids the shot.  Echavarria ties up his opponent.  Echavarria hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. 
Echavarria connects with a sharp right uppercut.  
Mate tries to land a right hook, but Echavarria blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Mate lands a double right hook to his opponents head.

Echavarria is on target with a solid right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Echavarria is on target with a stinging right hook.  
Echavarria connects with a left hook.  
Echavarria walks his opponent into the blue corner.  Echavarria connects with a stinging cross.  
Mate throws a right hook, but Echavarria holds on to his opponent.  Echavarria leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Mate drives a left hook into Echavarria's body.  
Echavarria is looking to close the distance and connects with a left hook.  
Echavarria lands a left uppercut.  
Mate steps inside.  Echavarria lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Mate lands a solid cross.  
Echavarria advances into close range and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
Echavarria manages to force Mate onto the ropes.  Mate throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  It looks like Mate has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.
