Franco Apostol vs Santiago Zayas

Boxing Daily Report from the Puerto Rico National Finals 2043,  taking place on 11/04/2043 from Carolina, Puerto Rico:

The Carolina venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Super Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Franco Apostol (47(14) - 27) who hails from Ponce, Puerto Rico and Santiago Zayas(14 - 5(1)) from Carolina, Puerto Rico.  

Round 1: 

Apostol manouvers Zayas onto the ropes.  Apostol sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Apostol attempts to land a right uppercut, but Zayas sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Apostol attempts to land a right hook, but Zayas blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Zayas is on target with a stinging cross.  
Apostol advances into close range and lands a left uppercut to the head, a right hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Apostol is on target with a left hook.  
Apostol lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Apostol hits home with a solid right hook.  Apostol holds on to his opponent.  Apostol pushes his forearm into Zayas's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Apostol to stop fouling.  
Zayas steps to the outside and attempts to land a jab, but Apostol sidesteps and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
Apostol digs in a left uppercut to Zayas's body.  
Apostol manages to force Zayas into the corner.  Zayas throws a left hook, but Apostol holds on to his opponent.  Apostol tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Zayas behind the head. Apostol leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, Zayas pushes his forearm into Apostol's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Apostol lands a left uppercut to the head, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Apostol lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Zayas throws a right hook, but Apostol ties up his opponent.  Apostol leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Apostol closes the distance.  Apostol sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Zayas throws a right hook, but Apostol holds on to his opponent.  Zayas leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Apostol's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Apostol gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Apostol hits home with a sharp cross.  
Apostol closes the distance and digs in a solid right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Zayas is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a hard jab.  Zayas tries to land a jab, but Apostol sidesteps and counters with a sharp left uppercut.  
Apostol steps inside.  Zayas throws a left hook, but Apostol clinches his opponent.  Apostol is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Apostol lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Apostol holds on to his opponent.  Apostol is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Zayas is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Zayas about fouling.

Apostol lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Zayas almost instantly recovers.

Apostol is looking for the shot to finish his opponent.  Apostol lands a left uppercut, right hook and a right uppercut to his opponents body.  It looks like Zayas has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Zayas quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Apostol finds the target with a jab.  
Apostol slams a big left hook into his opponents body.  ZAYAS WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Apostol throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a firm cross.  
Apostol gets on the inside.  Apostol thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Zayas away.  Apostol lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body, AND DROPS ZAYAS TO THE CANVAS!  He tries to rise but his legs dont respond...the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Apostol!
