Eric Phiri vs Bart Gunn

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 06/04/2045 from Cape Town, South Africa:

The Cape Town venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Eric Phiri (22 - 5) who hails from Cape Town, South Africa and Bart Gunn(1 - 18) from Saint Paul, USA.  

Round 1: 

Phiri finds the target with a jab.  
Gunn feints a left, and then lands a left hook.  
Gunn lands a right hook.  
Phiri steps away from his opponent.  Phiri sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Phiri attempts to land a jab, but Gunn dodges the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Gunn forces Phiri to back into the ropes.  Gunn tries to land a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a firm left hook.  
Phiri lands with a stiff jab.  
Gunn advances into close range.  Phiri goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref ignores Gunn's complaints and signals for the action to continue.

Gunn gets on the inside.  Phiri lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Phiri lands a solid jab.  
Phiri lands a jab to the head, a cross to the body and a cross to the head.

Phiri hits home with a solid jab.  Phiri tries to land a jab, but Gunn slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Gunn cuts off the ring, trapping Phiri in the blue corner.  Gunn hits home with a cross.  
Phiri lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Gunn lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Phiri lands a right uppercut followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Phiri lands with a spiteful jab.  
Phiri tries to keep the action at long range and lands a straight 1 - 2.  He continues the combination and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.
