Doncho á Zaikov vs Rumen á Gruev

Boxing Daily Report from the Bulgaria National Finals 2021,  taking place on 11/03/2021 from Plovdiv, Bulgaria:

The Plovdiv venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Light Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Doncho á Zaikov (12 - 5) who hails from Sofia, Bulgaria and Rumen á Gruev(13(1) - 7) from Sofia, Bulgaria.  

Round 1: 

Zaikov pivots to the right of his opponent, but Gruev lands a cross.

Gruev advances into close range and cuts off the ring, trapping Zaikov on the ropes.  Zaikov digs in a left hook to Gruev's body.  
Gruev is looking to close the distance and hits home with a right uppercut.  
Zaikov connects with a cross.  
Zaikov is on target with an overhand left.  
Zaikov tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a jab.  
Zaikov switches the action to the outside.  Gruev lands a jab followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.
