Ben McKowen vs Gethin Vann

Boxing Daily Report from the Ireland National Finals 2021,  taking place on 26/03/2021 from Cork, Ireland:

The Cork venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Featherweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Ben McKowen (13 - 8) who hails from Dun Laoghaire, Ireland and Gethin Vann(7 - 3) from Dublin, Ireland.  

Round 1: 

McKowen finds the target with a sharp jab.  
Vann connects with a left hook.  
Vann walks McKowen onto the ropes.  McKowen lands a right hook.  
McKowen lands a jab to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Vann quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but McKowen snaps his opponents head back with a stiff jab.

Vann advances into close range and connects with a right hook.

McKowen switches the action to the outside and lands a cross.

Vann sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  McKowen throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
McKowen lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
McKowen tries to keep the action at long range and lands a straight 1 - 2.

Vann steps inside.  McKowen connects with a left hook.
