Boxing Daily Report from the Kenya National Finals 2021,  taking place on 26/03/2021 from Machakos, Kenya:

The Machakos venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Featherweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Andy Chepkurgor (9 - 11) who hails from Nairobi, Kenya and Mark Gichuki(14 - 6) from Nairobi, Kenya.  

Round 1: 

Gichuki manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Gichuki pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Gichuki forces Chepkurgor to retreat onto the ropes.  Gichuki sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a right hook to Chepkurgor's body.  
Gichuki is looking to close the distance and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Chepkurgor tries to step out of his opponents range and finds the target with a jab.  
Gichuki walks Chepkurgor into a corner.  Gichuki lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.

Chepkurgor switches the action to the outside and hits the target with a solid jab.  
Gichuki gets on the inside.  Chepkurgor lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Chepkurgor sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Chepkurgor tries to land a jab, but Gichuki sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Chepkurgor lands with a hard jab.  
Chepkurgor steps away from his opponent and lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Chepkurgor is looking to close the distance.  Gichuki is on target with a right hook.  Gichuki throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.
