Boxing Daily Report from the USA National Finals 2021,  taking place on 26/04/2021 from Anaheim, USA:

The Anaheim venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Flyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Billy Pugh (9 - 12) who hails from Lincoln, USA and Geoff Quirk(11(1) - 8) from New York City, USA.  

Round 1: 

Pugh feints a left, and then finds the target with a jab.  
Pugh lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Quirk manouvers his opponent into the red corner.  Pugh connects with a right hook.  
Pugh steps away from his opponent and lands an overhand right.  
Quirk steps inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Pugh steps away from his opponent and lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Pugh is on target with a hard jab.  
Pugh steps to the outside and is on target with a jab.  
Quirk gets on the inside and hits home with a firm left hook.

Pugh is looking to keep his distance and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Quirk is looking to close the distance.  Quirk quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.  Quirk throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref ignores Pugh's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Pugh hits home with a left hook.  
Quirk closes the distance and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Pugh steps to the outside and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Pugh connects with an overhand right.  
Pugh throws a right uppercut, but his opponent steps away from the punch.  Pugh clinches his opponent.  Pugh leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Pugh steps to the outside and hits home with a hard jab.

Quirk lands a stinging cross.
