Michael Wiseman vs Jacob Ryan

Boxing Daily Report from the Sting Hard promoted show at New York City Apolinar, New York City,  taking place on 02/09/2025:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Michael Wiseman (0 - 2) who hails from Mobile, USA and Jacob Ryan(4 - 0) from San Diego, USA.  Both Wiseman and Ryan weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Joshua Perkins, and the three ringside judges are Mike Spence, Jack Fiddes and Dave Barclay.  

Round 1: 

Wiseman quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Ryan lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Ryan quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands with a ramrod jab.  
Ryan steps inside and connects with a right hook.  Ryan ties up his opponent.  Ryan is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Ryan advances into close range and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Ryan hits home with a left hook.  
Ryan is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Ryan ties up his opponent.  Ryan leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Wiseman tries to keep the action at long range.  Wiseman sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Ryan lands a cross.  
Ryan is looking to close the distance and digs in a left hook to Wiseman's body.  
Ryan steps inside and manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Wiseman throws a left hook, but Ryan clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Ryan pushes his forearm into Wiseman's face.  The referee warns Ryan and breaks the clinch.  
Wiseman voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Ryan tries to tag Wiseman on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!  Ryan lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Ryan closes the distance.  Wiseman throws a right hook, but Ryan clinches his opponent.  Ryan pushes his forearm into Wiseman's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Ryan.  
Ryan pivots from in front of his opponent and finds the target with a stiff jab.  
Ryan gets on the inside and connects with a left hook.  Ryan attempts to land a left hook, but Wiseman parries the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Ryan is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Ryan lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Wiseman tries to step out of his opponents range.  Ryan lands a jab.  
Ryan connects with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Wiseman's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Wiseman's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Wiseman's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Ryan lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.

Ryan tries to step out of his opponents range and is on target with an overhand left.

Ryan is on target with a left hook to Wiseman's ribs.

Ryan is on target with a left hook.  Ryan ties up his opponent.  Ryan leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The referee breaks up the clinch and lectures Ryan to stop holding.  Ryan wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Wiseman dabs at his face checking for damage.
