Boxing Daily Report from the AI Guyana-North promoted show at Georgetown Magnus, Georgetown,  taking place on 17/08/2025:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Guyana Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on NCN, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Mel Elliot (7 - 5(1) - 1) who hails from Georgetown, Guyana and Cody Taylor(4 - 6 - 1) from Georgetown, Guyana.  Both Elliot and Taylor weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Kris Manderson, and the three ringside judges are Adam Kinzey, Bradley Shiels and Chris Halley.  

Round 1: 

Elliot gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Elliot forces Taylor to back into the ropes.  Taylor is on target with a right hook.  
Elliot quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  He continues the combination and lands two consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents head.  
Elliot voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Taylor tries to land a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook.
