Lucas Saunders vs James Lew

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-North Carolina promoted show at Charlotte Craig, Charlotte,  taking place on 18/08/2025:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-North Carolina Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Lucas Saunders (6 - 3 - 1) who hails from Charlotte, USA and James Lew(5 - 0) from Greensboro, USA.  Both Saunders and Lew weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ethan Easton, and the three ringside judges are Dan Creelman, Alen Corson and Alen Corson.  

Round 1: 

Lew closes the distance and lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Lew hits home with a sharp right hook.  
Lew sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a stinging left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Saunders steps away from his opponent.  Lew lands a firm cross.  
Lew closes the distance and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Lew lands a firm right hook.  
As Lew tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Saunders dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Lew lands a right hook, left uppercut and a right hook to his opponents body.  
Lew drives a right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Lew cuts off the ring, trapping Saunders in a corner.  Lew is on target with a right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Lew connects with a left hook.  
Lew pivots to the left of his opponent.  Lew lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  Lew ties up his opponent.  Lew uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Saunders's kidney.

Lew closes the distance.  Saunders pivots from in front of his opponent.  Saunders throws a left uppercut, but Lew ties up his opponent.  Lew is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Lew about fouling.
