Abhay Purushothaman vs Anupam Tripathi

Boxing Daily Report from the Boxing forever promoted show at Karan Purushothaman Gym, Howrah,  taking place on 22/07/2025:

Clearly Boxing forever have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the India-West Bengal Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Abhay Purushothaman (5 - 1 - 1) who hails from Kolkata, India and Anupam Tripathi(3 - 9 - 6) from Howrah, India.  Both Purushothaman and Tripathi weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Adnan Mirza, and the three ringside judges are Tariq Amer, Devdas Bahri and Adnan Mirza.  

Round 1: 

Tripathi tries to land a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Purushothaman is looking to keep the action on the outside and hits home with an overhand right.

Tripathi closes the distance and walks Purushothaman down, trapping him on the ropes.  Tripathi goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref ignores Purushothaman's complaints and signals for the action to continue.
