Chu-young Yon vs Soo-il Shim

Boxing Daily Report from the AI South Korea-Daegu promoted show at Keun-ho Shon Gym, Daegu,  taking place on 01/09/2025:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the South Korea-Daegu Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Chu-young Yon (12 - 3 - 3) who hails from Daegu, South Korea and Soo-il Shim(10 - 4) from Daegu, South Korea.  Both Yon and Shim weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Hyun-jun Chon, and the three ringside judges are Chung-yong Byun, Ju-young No and Min-hyeok Ha.  

Round 1: 

Yon steps away from his opponent.  Shim lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Shim is looking to close the distance and attempts to land a left hook, but Yon dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Yon lands a left uppercut, right uppercut and a cross to his opponents head.  
Shim is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.

Yon is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Yon sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Shim lands a cross.  
Shim lands a hard jab.  
Shim lands a left hook.  
Shim gets on the inside and connects with a left hook.  
Shim digs in a right hook to Yon's ribs.  Shim tries to land a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.
