Joey Govan vs John Ancrum

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-North Carolina promoted show at Charlotte Craig, Charlotte,  taking place on 11/09/2025:

Clearly AI USA-North Carolina have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-North Carolina Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Joey Govan (7 - 7 - 3) who hails from Charlotte, USA and John Ancrum(8 - 8(1) - 4) from Greensboro, USA.  Both Govan and Ancrum weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Alen Corson, and the three ringside judges are Chris Farm, Oliver Racine and Arthur Atcheson.  

Round 1: 

Ancrum advances into close range and attempts to land a left hook, but Govan blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Govan lands an overhand right, cross and an overhand left to his opponents head.  
Ancrum cuts off the ring, trapping Govan on the ropes.  Govan lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Ancrum sidesteps to the left of his opponent and digs in a left hook to Govan's body.
