Vidal Melendez vs Sean Hallowell

Boxing Daily Report from the Ngcobo Promotions promoted show at Havana Zaragosa, Havana,  taking place on 15/09/2025:

Clearly Ngcobo Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Vidal Melendez (0 - 0) who hails from Havana, Cuba and Sean Hallowell(0 - 4) from Nassau, Bahamas.  Both Melendez and Hallowell weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Luis Sanchez, and the three ringside judges are Beltran Diaz, Urvano Domingo and Fidel Serrano.  

Round 1: 

Melendez lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.

Hallowell steps back and leans on the ropes with his guard up.  Melendez accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Hallowell.  Melendez is on target with a firm cross.

Round 2: 

Melendez steps inside.  Hallowell throws a left hook, but Melendez clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Hallowell pushes his forearm into Melendez's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Hallowell.  
Melendez lands a stinging cross.  
Melendez steps inside and lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Melendez gets on the inside.  Melendez pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a right hook.  
Melendez advances into close range.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Hallowell has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
Melendez gets on the inside and lands a stinging left hook.  Melendez clinches his opponent.  Melendez is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Melendez about fouling.  Melendez throws a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Melendez steps inside and throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.
