Jesus Monsalve vs Montel Rey

Boxing Daily Report from the Wonani Promotions promoted show at Guayaquil Chacon, Guayaquil,  taking place on 18/08/2025:

Clearly Wonani Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Ecuador-Guayas Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Jesus Monsalve (7 - 8 - 4) who hails from Guayaquil, Ecuador and Montel Rey(5 - 13 - 3) from Guayaquil, Ecuador.  Both Monsalve and Rey weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Quico Gaytan, and the three ringside judges are Quico Gaytan, Juan Corzo and Rio Garcia.  

Round 1: 

Monsalve closes the distance.  Monsalve pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Rey is on target with a jab.  Rey throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents liver.
