Chandrakant Chia vs Akbar Purandeswari

Boxing Daily Report from the AI India-Tamil Nadu promoted show at Sanjeev Jayaraj Gym, Chennai,  taking place on 22/08/2025:

Clearly AI India-Tamil Nadu have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the India-Tamil Nadu Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Chandrakant Chia (7 - 6) who hails from Chennai, India and Akbar Purandeswari(6 - 3 - 3) from Chennai, India.  Chia weighed in at 248 pounds and 1 ounces, while Purandeswari weighed in at 257 pounds and 4 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Girish Mehra, and the three ringside judges are Amer Meskin, Amer Meskin and Randeep Sharma.
