John Kones vs Alastair Mbarire

Boxing Daily Report from the Konga Promotions promoted show at Nairobi Anguka, Nairobi,  taking place on 24/08/2025:

Clearly Konga Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Kenya Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on KTV, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are John Kones (9 - 5 - 3) who hails from Nairobi, Kenya and Alastair Mbarire(9 - 6(1)) from Nairobi, Kenya.  Kones weighed in at 154 pounds, while Mbarire weighed in at 153 pounds and 3 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Sam Waiyaki, and the three ringside judges are Sam Waiyaki, Rich Ashira and LeBron Naikuni.
