Hajime Baba vs Kei Fujiwara

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Japan-Osaka promoted show at Hitoshi Ito Gym, Osaka,  taking place on 24/08/2025:

Clearly AI Japan-Osaka have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan-Osaka Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Hajime Baba (4 - 6 - 4) who hails from Osaka, Japan and Kei Fujiwara(7 - 2 - 2) from Sakai, Japan.  Both Baba and Fujiwara weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Aoi Ohno, and the three ringside judges are Jun Nakahara, Hisao Sakai and Mitsuru Kanai.  

Round 1: 

Baba tries to step out of his opponents range.  Fujiwara hits home with an overhand right.  
Fujiwara finds the target with a jab.  
Fujiwara gets on the inside and is on target with a left hook.  
Fujiwara closes the distance and lands a left hook.  
Fujiwara walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Fujiwara pivots to the left of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.  
Fujiwara throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Fujiwara retreats back to the ropes, and waits for his opponent to attack.  Baba tries to tag Fujiwara on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!  Baba digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Baba steps to the outside and is on target with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Baba's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Baba's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Fujiwara advances into close range.  Baba quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.  
Baba steps away from his opponent and throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook to Baba's ribs.  
Baba pivots from in front of his opponent.  Baba attempts to land a left hook, but Fujiwara parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Fujiwara is on target with a jab.  
Fujiwara gets on the inside.  Baba sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Baba steps away from his opponent and attempts to land a cross, but Fujiwara sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Baba connects with a cross.  
Baba feints a jab, and then lands a cross.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Fujiwara's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Fujiwara's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
