Boxing Daily Report from the ABP Promotions promoted show at Rehman Shehata Gym, Los Angeles,  taking place on 17/09/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Dave Cay (0 - 0) who hails from Wollongong, Australia and Robert Kirkpatrick(2 - 11(1) - 4) from Las Vegas, USA.  Cay weighed in at 238 pounds and 9 ounces, while Kirkpatrick weighed in at 226 pounds and 12 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Blake Travis, and the three ringside judges are Sam Gaddie, John Gourley and Mark Gardon.  

Round 1: 

Cay closes the distance and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.

Kirkpatrick gets on the inside.  Cay is on target with a left hook.  Cay throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Cay steps to the outside and lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Cay is looking to keep his distance and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Kirkpatrick attempts to land a right hook, but Cay parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Cay lands a stinging jab.  
Cay pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Kirkpatrick steps inside and manouvers Cay onto the ropes.  Cay lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Cay is on target with a right hook.  Cay clinches his opponent.  The ref breaks Cay's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Cay advances into close range and connects with a firm left hook.  
Cay sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook.  
Cay is on target with a stinging left hook to his opponents ribs.  Cay ties up his opponent.  Cay pushes his forearm into Kirkpatrick's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Cay about fouling.  
Cay pivots to the left of his opponent.  Kirkpatrick throws a right hook, but Cay ties up his opponent.  The ref breaks Cay's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Cay lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Cay steps inside and connects with a left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Kirkpatrick's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Kirkpatrick's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Kirkpatrick's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Kirkpatrick's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Cay gets on the inside and is on target with a firm left hook to Kirkpatrick's body.  
Cay steps inside.  Cay sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Kirkpatrick throws a right hook, but Cay holds on to his opponent.  Cay tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Kirkpatrick behind the head. Cay leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Cay is on target with a solid left uppercut.  
Cay pivots from in front of his opponent and is on target with a left uppercut.  
Cay lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Cay steps inside.  Kirkpatrick attempts to land a right hook, but Cay dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Cay pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Cay dabs at his face checking for damage.

Cay lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
Cay steps away from his opponent and lands an overhand right followed by  two straights to his opponents head.
