Tunde Burja vs Juwon Okoye

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Nigeria-Enugu State promoted show at Enugu Bethel, Enugu,  taking place on 26/09/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Nigeria Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on AIT Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Tunde Burja (6 - 3(1) - 1) who hails from Kano, Nigeria and Juwon Okoye(10 - 4) from Enugu, Nigeria.  Both Burja and Okoye weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Haaris Mansour, and the three ringside judges are Gbolahan Usman, Elderson Iseghohi and Theophilus Dombraye.  

Round 1: 

Okoye walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Burja lands a left hook.

Burja is starting to lose his temper here.   He swings an uppercut into his opponents groin! The ref halts the action and sends Okoye to the neutral corner.    He has a stern word with Burja and warns that a point will be deducted if he continues to foul.

Okoye thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Burja away.  Okoye SLAMS a nasty right hook into his opponents face.  BURJA IS DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  Burja now seems to have his senses back.
