Afon Makarov vs Sergey Portnyagin

Boxing Daily Report from the Senanu Promotions promoted show at Irkutsk Lavrov, Irkutsk,  taking place on 29/09/2025:

Clearly Senanu Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Russia-Irkutsk Oblast Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Afon Makarov (21 - 1) who hails from Irkutsk, Russia and Sergey Portnyagin(8 - 9 - 3) from Angarsk, Russia.  Both Makarov and Portnyagin weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Melor Kabanov, and the three ringside judges are Fedya Rochev, Gennady Sinitsyn and Dmitriy Zozulin.  

Round 1: 

Makarov closes the distance and lands a right hook.  Makarov attempts to land a left hook, but Portnyagin blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Makarov lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Makarov gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Makarov ties up his opponent.  Makarov pushes his forearm into Portnyagin's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Makarov closes the distance.  Makarov lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  As Makarov tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Portnyagin dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Makarov steps inside and tries to land a left hook, but Portnyagin blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Makarov lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Makarov closes the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.
