Luka Zelensky vs Sasha Maitakov

Boxing Daily Report from the Omane Promotions promoted show at Rostov-on-Don Kravets, Rostov-on-Don,  taking place on 29/09/2025:

Clearly Omane Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Russia-Rostov Oblast Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Eurosport Russia, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Luka Zelensky (9 - 10 - 1) who hails from Taganrog, Russia and Sasha Maitakov(8 - 0 - 1) from Rostov-on-Don, Russia.  Zelensky weighed in at 129 pounds and 4 ounces, while Maitakov weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Dimi Akimov, and the three ringside judges are Kir Karelin, Boris Sinitsyn and Dimi Akimov.  

Round 1:

Maitakov gets on the inside.  Maitakov digs in a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  Zelensky wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Maitakov dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Zelensky tries to step out of his opponents range and finds the target with a jab.  
Zelensky is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a cross.  
Zelensky attempts to land a jab, but Maitakov sidesteps and counters with a cross.

Maitakov digs in a sharp right uppercut to his opponents ribcage.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Maitakov dabs at his face checking for damage.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Maitakov.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.  
Maitakov forces Zelensky to retreat onto the ropes.  Maitakov lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  As Maitakov tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Zelensky dabs at his face checking for damage.
