Valentin Bastyr vs Daichi Mizuno

Boxing Daily Report from the Glove Shack promoted show at Citizens Culture Hall, Funabashi,  taking place on 04/10/2025:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Valentin Bastyr (2 - 0) who hails from Plzen, Czech Republic and Daichi Mizuno(3 - 11 - 1) from Yokohama, Japan.  Both Bastyr and Mizuno weighed in at 115 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Taro Sugawara, and the three ringside judges are Yoshi Oh, Jun Shiro and Hideki Yanagi.  

Round 1: 

Bastyr steps inside.  Bastyr voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Mizuno tries to land a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Bastyr gets on the inside.  Mizuno pivots from in front of his opponent and digs in a right hook to Bastyr's ribcage.  
Mizuno sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Bastyr connects with a right uppercut.  
Bastyr lands two right hooks followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Bastyr hits home with a right hook.  Bastyr ties up his opponent.  Bastyr is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Bastyr about fouling.
