David Matteson vs James Prentice

Boxing Daily Report from the TFI promoted show at Shreyas Gym, Boston,  taking place on 26/09/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are David Matteson (2 - 0) who hails from Wichita, USA and James Prentice(1 - 4) from Glendale, USA.  Matteson weighed in at 140 pounds, while Prentice weighed in at 139 pounds and 9 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Bart McWethy, and the three ringside judges are Hassan Quadri, Kyle Ormiston and Hugh Hier.  

Round 1: 

Matteson is looking to close the distance and lands two left hooks followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.

Matteson feints a cross, tricking Prentice into countering with a right uppercut.  Matteson avoids the shot and counters with a cross.  
Matteson steps inside.  Matteson quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Prentice goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref stops the action and gives Matteson time to recover.  
Matteson hits home with a right hook.  
Prentice pivots to the right of his opponent.  Matteson lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Matteson closes the distance.  Matteson pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Matteson hits home with a right uppercut.  
Matteson manages to force Prentice into a neutral corner.  Matteson lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  He then lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Prentice retreats back to the ropes, and waits for his opponent to attack.  Matteson steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  Matteson lands a left hook to the head, a cross to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Matteson closes the distance.  Matteson pivots to the left of his opponent.  Matteson is on target with a right hook.  Matteson holds on to his opponent.  Matteson pushes his forearm into Prentice's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Matteson about fouling.
