Aftab Shehata vs Shayan Mahfouz

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Egypt-Cairo promoted show at Cairo Alluba, Cairo,  taking place on 17/09/2025:

Clearly AI Egypt-Cairo have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Egypt-Cairo Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Aftab Shehata (4 - 3 - 1) who hails from Cairo, Egypt and Shayan Mahfouz(3 - 4 - 6) from Cairo, Egypt.  Shehata weighed in at 111 pounds and 10 ounces, while Mahfouz weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Amer Deen, and the three ringside judges are Shayan Abdelghany, Waleed Siddiqi and Haaris Kassas.  

Round 1: 

Mahfouz advances into close range.  Shehata is on target with a left hook.  
Mahfouz pivots to the side of his opponent.  Shehata is on target with a right hook.

Mahfouz gets on the inside.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Shehata.  That has caused damage to the nose.  
Shehata throws an overhand right, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Mahfouz advances into close range.  Mahfouz pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook.
