John Banks vs Mick Kellison

Boxing Daily Report from the PitBull Promotions promoted show at Theo Bain Gym, Jacksonville,  taking place on 02/10/2025:

Clearly PitBull Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Florida Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are John Banks (8 - 12 - 2) who hails from Tampa, USA and Mick Kellison(1 - 9 - 4) from Hialeah, USA.  Both Banks and Kellison weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Hugh Guffy, and the three ringside judges are Chris Sprout, Leo Couch and Mark Briden.  

Round 1: 

Kellison gets on the inside.  Banks pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Kellison is looking to close the distance.  Banks sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with a right uppercut.  
Kellison steps inside.  Banks drives a left hook into Kellison's body.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Banks has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Banks manages to force Kellison into the blue corner.  Kellison is on target with a jab.  
Banks steps away from his opponent and hits home with an overhand right.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Banks's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Kellison's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Kellison's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Kellison's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Banks lands a double right hook to his opponents head.
