Mikio Aoyama vs Isamu Tamura

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Tokyo International Forum, Tokyo,  taking place on 22/11/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan Minimumweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Mikio Aoyama (10 - 7(1) - 2) who hails from Chiba, Japan and Isamu Tamura(5 - 0) from Toyota, Japan.  Both Aoyama and Tamura weighed in at 105 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Goro Oyama, and the three ringside judges are Ryo Shiroma, Akira Kishimoto and Hiroki Aoyama.  

Round 1: 

Tamura connects with a cross.  
Aoyama connects with a left uppercut.  
Tamura gets on the inside.  Tamura sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Aoyama attempts to land a right hook, but Tamura dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Tamura lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.

Tamura is looking to close the distance.  Tamura sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a left uppercut.  As Aoyama tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Tamura has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
Tamura gets on the inside and walks Aoyama down, trapping him in the corner.  Tamura lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Aoyama steps away from his opponent and lands a cross to the body, and then to the head.
