Santhosh Baliyan vs Lakshman Nath

Boxing Daily Report from the AI India-Maharashtra promoted show at Nagpur Kapur, Nagpur,  taking place on 22/11/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the India Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on TEN Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Santhosh Baliyan (9 - 8) who hails from Mumbai, India and Lakshman Nath(11(1) - 0) from Lucknow, India.  Both Baliyan and Nath weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Lochan Vijay, and the three ringside judges are Shayan Haque, Pritish Chawla and Rajat Patil.  

Round 1: 

Nath tries to land a right uppercut, but Baliyan blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Nath advances into close range.  Baliyan throws a left uppercut, but Nath holds on to his opponent.  Nath leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Nath closes the distance and walks Baliyan down, trapping him on the ropes.  Nath lands two right uppercuts to the body, and one to the head.  
Nath drives a stinging right uppercut into Baliyan's body.  
Baliyan steps away from his opponent and attempts to land a cross, but Nath blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Nath closes the distance and lands consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Nath digs in a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Nath advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body, KNOCKING BALIYAN DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  
Baliyan is looking to keep his distance.  Nath senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Baliyan and just needs the right shot.  Nath is on target with a powerful right hook to his opponents ribs.  BALIYAN HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He manages to get up at 4.  Baliyan now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Baliyan steps away from his opponent and attempts to land a cross, but Nath sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Baliyan connects with an overhand right.  
Baliyan switches the action to the outside and tries to land a cross, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Nath closes the distance and manages to force Baliyan into the corner.  Nath lands consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Baliyan's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Baliyan's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Baliyan is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Nath steps inside and forces Baliyan to retreat onto the ropes.  Nath sidesteps to the right of his opponent and drives a firm right uppercut into his opponents ribcage.  
Nath digs in a right uppercut to his opponents ribcage.  
Nath pivots to the side of his opponent.  Nath is on target with a left hook to Baliyan's liver.  Nath ties up his opponent.  The ref separates the two fighters.

Baliyan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Nath drives a sharp right uppercut into his opponents ribcage.  Nath attempts to land a left uppercut, but Baliyan blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Baliyan has taken some damage from that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Nath lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Nath lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Nath drives a right uppercut into Baliyan's ribs.  
Baliyan drives a right hook into Nath's ribcage.  
Nath walks Baliyan down, trapping him in the red corner.  Nath lands a right uppercut to the body, a left hook to the body and a right uppercut to the head.  
Nath lands a left hook, right uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body.  
Nath lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  Baliyan wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Nath dabs at his face checking for damage.

Some sustained pressure from Nath could be enough to finish Baliyan!  Nath digs in a weighty right uppercut to his opponents body.  BALIYAN IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 7.  It looks like Baliyan has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.

Baliyan steps to the outside.  Nath senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Nath lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body, AND KNOCKS BALIYAN DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  
Nath closes the distance.  Nath lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He then lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND DOWN GOES BALIYAN!  The ref immediately waves off the fight...he's seen enough!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Nath!
