John Chipeta vs Makalo Akamenya

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Zimbabwe-Bulawayo promoted show at Large City Hall, Bulawayo,  taking place on 23/11/2025:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the African Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Joy TV, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are John Chipeta (15 - 4) who hails from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and Makalo Akamenya(14(1) - 3(2) - 2) from Kumasi, Ghana.  Chipeta weighed in at 126 pounds, while Akamenya weighed in at 125 pounds and 12 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Paul Dumbutshena, and the three ringside judges are Rashon Mambare, Joey Mumbengegwi and Joseph Tongogara.
