Ian Oduol vs Jay Gitau

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Kenya-Machakos promoted show at Kangundo-Tala Kayange, Kangundo-Tala,  taking place on 23/11/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Kenya-Machakos Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on KTV, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ian Oduol (16 - 0) who hails from Athi River, Kenya and Jay Gitau(12 - 6) from Kangundo-Tala, Kenya.  Both Oduol and Gitau weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ian Elmi, and the three ringside judges are Mark Ababu, Noah Litole and Vashon Magut.  

Round 1: 

Oduol sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Gitau throws an overhand right, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Oduol is looking to close the distance.  Oduol sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.
