Fidel Cara vs Vicente Nery

Boxing Daily Report from the Rattlesnake Promotions promoted show at Don Haskins Convention Center, El Paso,  taking place on 12/12/2025:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the Americas Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fox Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Fidel Cara (26(24) - 0) who hails from Ponce, Puerto Rico and Vicente Nery(15 - 4(3)) from Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.  Both Cara and Nery weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Chris Suit, and the three ringside judges are James Galbraith, Corey Barnes and Bruce Deliz.  

Round 1: 

Cara gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Nery lands a cross.

Nery walks Cara onto the ropes.  Nery pivots to the left of his opponent.  Nery lands with a ramrod jab.  Nery tries to land a left uppercut, but Cara blocks the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Nery finds the target with a jab.  Nery throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a solid left hook.  
Nery lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Nery lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Cara lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Nery walks Cara onto the ropes.  Cara digs in a left hook to Nery's ribs.
